Go Nerf at night! Take your battle into the darkness with the N-Strike Firefly Rev-8! Now you can take aim at your opponent anytime, anywhere... even at night! Launch glowing Nerf darts from up to 30 feet away! The rotating barrel holds up to eight darts- just pull back to power up, squeeze the trigger, and fire! Blast away and watch the barrel burst with light as you send glowing darts flying through the night! Requires 2 'AA' batteries (not included). Blaster comes with eight glow darts, label sheet and instructions. Nerf N-Strike Firefly Rev-8 Gun comes in blue or yellow. Speical requests cannot be accepted at this time. Item is packed randomly.
Don’t let something as inconsequential as nightfall or even total darkness stop you from having fun shooting Nerf projectiles all over the place. This Nerf weapon is built for nighttime maneuvers, featuring eight glow-in-the-dark darts that can either be loaded up for rapid fire or stored on the back of the weapon for later use. Some parts light up with a soft glow thanks to a pair of AA batteries that are required but not included. The batteries don’t effect the gun’s charging, which is still done by pump action. The range of the projectiles didn’t quite reach 30 feet as promised on the box but we still had an awful lot of fun shooting Nerf darts across a darkened room. --Charlie Williams

"Great blaster, use different darts" 2010-07-07
By Jeremy Tyler (Utah, USA)
I recently purchased the Nerf N-Strike Firefly REV-8 blaster after reading many reviews. I have found that the blaster does not jam as some have claimed. The distance the blaster shoots varies depending on what dart is being used. I have used the glow in the dark darts that come with the blaster and the Nerf Sonic Micro Darts. The sonic darts fly a whole lot straighter and farther. The original darts have some distance issues, the accuracy is slightly affected if the glow in the dark stickers are placed on the original darts. I have only placed one sticker on my original darts as a test and have noticed some performance issues with that one dart. I highly recommend getting more darts, especially if you plan to use eight dart holder on the gun. The holder has a piece of plastic protruding out to hold the darts securely in place, but it does some damage to the darts over time. The good news is that the Nerf N-Strike Firefly REV-8 uses the same darts as the Nerf N-Strike Vulcan EBF-25 Blaster - Yellow and the Nerf N-Strike Maverick Blaster. If you decide to purchase multiple blasters, I'd recommend getting the Nerf Dart Ammo Box - Micro Sonic Darts and at least the Nerf Glow In Dark Darts, 12 pk if you like the glow in the dark option. The flashing light is a little cheesy, but it has the potential to add another dimension to your Nerf wars. If you are looking to mod the Firefly, there are tons of tutorials on YouTube.

"Fun but darts sometimes fall out" 2010-05-12

I like the glow in the dark concept and the shooting mechanism, but sometimes the darts fall out. Overall a fun toy to play with though.

 "OK, not stellar" 2010-04-27
By F. Barrett (Brentwood, TN USA)
Since our other sons were getting Nerf guns, we got the third son this one so he would be able to join in if he wished. He's not very organized and it hasn't taken long to lose most of the darts. He's more musically - oriented, anyway and doesn't play with it much, but does seem to have a good time with it when he does bring it out. I'd recommend it; the glow-in-the-dark darts are pretty cool, anyway.

 "Very poor quality." 2010-02-23
By Lobster Sneakers (Washington, DC)
So my neighbor is this disgusting old fat man who just constantly "accidentally" leaves his trashcans in my driveway. And it's like, I've told this smelly SOB several times that he can't do that, but he always just ignores me. He also uses this really loud leafblower to blow all kinds of debris and whatnot into my yard.

So I decided that enough was enough and I needed to get back at him in some way. I needed a weapon.
So I peruse the internet for fully automatic weapons or like a chain gun or something but it turns out I needed a permit for most of these. And if that wasn't bad enough, the price tags were OUTRAGEOUS!

I opened up Amazon and looked for some really hardcore weaponry to combat this smelly nuisance with, and lo and behold I saw the N-Strike Firefly REV-8. I thought, woah, this thing looks like some kind of futuristic alien space rifle! Seeing that it glowed in the frigging dark cinched the deal, because now I can break into my neighbor's house in the middle of the night, creep into his bedroom and then BAM! Flashbang and a bullet right between your beady eyes!

So I buy it, wait a few weeks (which were dreadful, he left his trashcans in my driveway every day) and it finally arrives. The first thing I noticed was that the ammunition for this weapon was not bullets, but instead some rinky-dink foam darts. Okay, well, that's all well and good I suppose, I loaded it up and tried to fire off a few gangster hip shots like I see those rap stars doing in movies about themselves. I realized then that I had to pump some little tab to make it fire! This was just turning into a worse and worse use of my money. I decided to continue with my original plan though, and I hopped the fence separating my yard from my neighbors.

As I approached the door to his house, I tripped and fell and knocked one of my teeth out as my face his his front steps. Not being one to give up, I cried for 15 minutes and then came to his front door. I tried shooting the lock, but the stupid little foam darts couldn't break it apart. I then tried beating his door down with the gun, but no such luck could be had.

My neighbor, apparently awoken by the noise, came to the front door and asked me what I wanted at that godforsaken time of night.
I raised the rifle to his face, yelled out a witty catch phrase ("lights out!" I said. It's funny because the gun flashes), and squeezed off a few rounds into his face. The horrible ham monster knocked my gun out of my hands and punched me in the face.

So thanks a lot, Nerf, you ruined my life even worse. I hope your children disappoint you.

"nerf reaches a whole new level!!!!" 2010-02-11

My friend has this gun and he has let me borrow it a few times. It rocks!!!!!! The range is awesome, and it is easy to reload. Other guns may be easier, but if you're a good Nerfer, this gun provides awesome shooting.

Cons:

Darts sometimes fall out of the holder
Trigger is hard to press with one finger (I use my trigger and middle finger)
After using the longshot for so long, I sometimes try to push the reloading mechanism and fumble (my con)
